Why Yahuah Chose a Set-Apart People for Himself

From the beginning of the Scriptures, Yahuah establishes a clear pattern. He separates a particular people unto Himself. This decision was not made randomly or for favoritism. It was a deliberate and strategic act designed to protect the truth, preserve His Torah, and reveal His character to the world. To understand why Yahuah chose a specific people and no other nation has He loved in the same way, we must read the Scriptures literally, not according to religious tradition or modern opinion.
The Rebellion of Mankind and the Division of the Nations
After Adam’s fall, mankind continually rebelled against Yahuah’s authority, culminating at Babel when humanity united to defy His command to spread across the earth (Genesis 11:4). Because of this rebellion, Yahuah confused their language and scattered them across the earth.
Deuteronomy 32:8-9, according to the oldest Hebrew texts such as the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Septuagint, reveals what happened at Babel:
"When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when He separated the sons of Adam,He set the bounds of the people according to the number of the sons of God. For Yahuah’s portion is His people, Jacob is the lot of His inheritance."
Yahuah divided the nations according to the number of the sons of God (bene ha'elohim), referring to spiritual beings. He assigned these angelic rulers over the Gentile nations. However, Yahuah kept Israel for Himself. Israel was not placed under the administration of the fallen heavenly beings. Israel was reserved for Yahuah’s direct rule and relationship.
This explains why the nations quickly sank into idolatry, false worship, and corruption. They were under the rule of disloyal spiritual powers. Only Israel was kept in covenant loyalty to Yahuah.
Why Israel Had to Be Set Apart
The word "qadosh" means "set apart" or "holy." Yahuah demanded that Israel be separated from the surrounding nations, cultures, and spiritual systems.
Yahuah’s command in Leviticus 20:26 makes this very clear:
"And you shall be holy unto Me, for I Yahuah am holy, and have severed you from other people, that you should be Mine."
If Israel had mixed with the Gentile nations, they would have been swallowed by idolatry and false doctrine. By remaining set apart:
They preserved the knowledge of the one true Elohim.
They maintained the Torah, Yahuah’s instructions.
They carried the true witness of Yahuah’s character and justice.
Without this separation, the truth of Yahuah’s covenant would have been completely lost among mankind.
Israel as a Kingdom of Priests
Yahuah explained the purpose of Israel’s election in Exodus 19:5-6:
"Now therefore, if you will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people, for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation."
Israel was supposed to serve as priests to the nations. Priests are intermediaries, they teach, they offer acceptable worship, and they represent the presence of Elohim. Thus, Israel was not called simply to be saved themselves, but to be the teachers and the light to the Gentiles once they were fully trained and refined.
Isaiah 2:2-3 prophesies the final result:
"And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of Yahuah’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, 'Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Yahuah, to the house of the Elohim of Jacob, and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths.' For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of Yahuah from Jerusalem."
Thus, Israel’s separation was for the ultimate purpose of bringing righteousness to all nations after being purified.
Religion Versus Covenant: The Corruption of the Nations
Because the Gentile nations were handed over to lesser spiritual rulers who became corrupt, the world was flooded with false religions. Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and countless other systems rose up, blending man’s imagination with spiritual corruption.
Religions like Christianity invented traditions such as Christmas, Easter, and Halloween. These celebrations have no foundation in the Torah and would never be accepted by Yahuah. Deuteronomy 12:29-31 warns:
"Take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them... You shall not worship Yahuah your Elohim in that way."
This demonstrates the necessity of Yahuah setting apart a people. Without Israel’s preservation of truth, mankind would be completely lost under a sea of lies and counterfeit worship.
The Gentiles' Rebellion and Their Judgment
While the Gentiles were not bound by the Sinai covenant, they were still responsible to recognize Yahuah as the Creator. Psalm 24:1 says:
"The earth is Yahuah’s, and the fullness thereof, the world, and they that dwell therein."
The nations rebelled by:
Rejecting Yahuah’s authority.
Worshiping idols and demons.
Committing violence, injustice, and oppression.
Scattering, enslaving, and attacking Yah’s chosen people.
Psalm 2 accurately captures the rebellion of the nations:
"Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yahuah and against His Anointed."
Thus, when Yahuah judges the Gentiles at the end of the age, it is not for covenant-breaking, since they never entered covenant. It is for rebellion against His rightful authority and for their crimes against His people.
Joel 3:2 makes it very clear:
"I will gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted My land."
Israel’s Correction Versus Gentile Destruction
The Scriptures show two very different paths:
Israel is disciplined as a son, corrected but never destroyed (Jeremiah 30:11).
The Gentile nations are judged as enemies, facing complete destruction unless they submit to Yahusha’s rule.
In Deuteronomy 32, "The Song of Moses," Yahuah predicts:
Israel’s fall into sin and scattering.
The Gentiles' arrogance and cruelty toward Israel.
Yahuah’s final rise to avenge His people and destroy the Gentile powers.
This shows that even though Israel sinned, they are not forsaken. They are refined, purified, and restored, while the rebellious nations are judged.
Conclusion
Yahuah chose a set-apart people because He knew that without separation, mankind would utterly corrupt the truth. By setting Israel apart:
The Torah was preserved.
The Name of Yahuah was maintained.
The foundation for future salvation was laid.
The nations rebelled under corrupt spiritual rulers. At the end of the age, Yahuah will rescue His people and punish the Gentile powers for their rebellion and violence.
This has been His unchanging plan from the beginning, and it will be fulfilled exactly as written.

Thank you for this, Yesterday 28 April a young Asian man stopped me in the Home Depot, and as he saw it began to witness to me about spiritual Israel and "The Last Secret of or in the Bible" As I stopped him as soon as the last secret came out of his mouth something about the queen mother or just mother. This would have been a perfect thing to hand him. I could see how he felt when I said there is no spiritual Israel. I left the encounter understanding I must do a better job of explaining, "being prepared to give an answer for the hope that lies in me" It was very evident how deep these thing…
