Why Yah Did Not Entrust His Covenant To The Gentile Nations

The story of Scripture begins with separation. In Eden, Adam and Eve sinned against Father Yah and were driven from His presence. Yet Yah immediately set forth a plan of restoration:

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel” (Genesis 3:15).

This promise of a coming seed to crush the serpent runs through all of Scripture. But if Yah’s purpose was to redeem all humanity, why did He not entrust His covenant to all of the nations equally? Why didn't he give His law and His promises to every people?

The answer is found in what men did whenever they were left to themselves. They corrupted worship, invented religion, and redefined what pleases Yah. To preserve His truth, Yah set apart one people: Israel.

Cain And Abel: The First Division In Worship

The first contrast in worship came with Cain and Abel.

“And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect” (Genesis 4:3-5).

Abel obeyed Yah’s command. He brought the firstborn of his flock as a blood sacrifice. From the very beginning, Yah established the principle: “Without shedding of blood is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22). Blood represents life, for “the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Leviticus 17:11). Sin could only be atoned for through the shedding of blood. Abel approached Yah in the way that He was required, and his offering was accepted by Yah.

Cain, however, chose his own method. He brought fruit of the ground, the work of his hands. It was not what Yah required for a sin offering. He redefined worship on his own terms.

Yah answered:

“If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door” (Genesis 4:7).

If Cain had brought the blood sacrifice that Yah required for sin, he would have been accepted by father Yah. But instead, he invented his own way and brought produce, which could never atone for sin. By rejecting Yah’s command, he allowed sin to rule over him. This is the foundation of all false religions today: man deciding how to worship Yah instead of submitting to what Yah has spoken.

Nimrod And Babel: Organized Rebellion

The spirit of Cain matured within Nimrod.

“And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD… And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel” (Genesis 10:8-10).

At Babel, mankind declared:

“And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth” (Genesis 11:4).

This was rebellion. They sought to reach heaven on their own terms, not by Yah’s command. It was the birth of the first organized false religion. Babel became the root of idolatry, astrology, goddess cults, and man-made systems of worship.

Yah scattered them by confusing their languages (Genesis 11:7-9). But the pattern was established. By Abraham’s day, every nation had its own gods, altars, and idols. The nations knew of the Creator but chose to invent their own religious system over obedience to Yah.

This is why father Yah did not entrust His covenant to just any nation. Left to themselves, they would corrupt the proper method of worship.

Israel Set Apart

When Yah redeemed Israel from Egypt, He revealed His purpose:

“Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation” (Exodus 19:5-6).

Though the earth already belonged to Him, Yah chose Israel to be His own possession. He gave them His commandments, Sabbaths, and feasts as the path of holiness.

Moses explained their role:

“See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the LORD my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it. Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people” (Deuteronomy 4:5-6).

This passage makes Israel’s assignment clear. They were to live out Yah’s laws with precision so that the surrounding nations would see their wisdom and understanding. The Gentiles were never entrusted with the covenant themselves. Instead, they were meant to look upon Israel’s obedience and recognize the greatness of Yah. Israel was chosen to be the example, the priests, and the teachers of the nations of the world.

Israel was not chosen because of power or greatness, but because of Yah’s love and His oath to Abraham (Deuteronomy 7:7-8). They were set apart to be trained in Yah’s ways so they could serve as His priests before the other nations.

The Oracles Given To Israel Alone

Paul addressed this directly:

“What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God” (Romans 3:1-2).

The oracles, Yah’s laws, promises, and testimonies, were given to Israel alone. Psalm 147:19-20 confirms:

“He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel. He hath NOT dealt so with any other nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them.”

Yah did not entrust His covenant to the Gentile nations. He guarded it in Israel so His truth would not be lost to distortion.

Christianity: Replacing Yah’s Covenant And Yah’s People

When the Gentiles later reached for the covenant through Christianity, they repeated Cain’s error. They redefined Yah’s will.

  • They replaced Yah’s Sabbaths with Sunday.

  • They replaced Passover with Easter.

  • They replaced Yah’s feasts with Christmas and other pagan customs.

But the corruption went further. Christianity also replaced Yah’s people. The church claimed to be the “new Israel,” teaching that Yah had cast away His chosen nation. This was rebellion against Yah’s plan.

Paul rejected this lie:

“I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew” (Romans 11:1-2).

Through Jeremiah, Yah sealed His promise:

“Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night… If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever” (Jeremiah 31:35-36).

As long as the sun and moon remain, Israel remains Yah’s people. He promised restoration:

“For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah… and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it” (Jeremiah 30:3).

Christianity’s creation of the church as a replacement for Israel was rebellion. Yah’s covenant was never entrusted to the Gentile nations, and His people were never cast away. The proof is in Yah’s promise: Israel will one day rule the nations as kings and priests. That was His plan from the beginning and it is His plan at the end. Israel will be the leaders of the nations, showing them Yah’s ways.

Israel’s Captivity And Yah’s Preservation

Israel stumbled. They turned to idols, broke covenant, and went into captivity. Yet their failure did not erase their calling. Through them came the Torah, the prophets, the writings, and the testimony of Yahusha.

Deuteronomy 28:64 foretold their scattering:

“And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other…”

This prophecy was fulfilled during the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, when Israel was carried in chains to the four corners of the earth into captivity. Their captivity was the direct result of covenant curses that befell their nation for disobedience. They were stripped of identity, heritage, and in most cases even access to the Scriptures.

Generations before the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, Yah had already ensured that His word was preserved and spread. The prophets, apostles, and earlier Israelites had carried the Tanakh and later the testimony of Yahusha throughout the known world. So, when Israel went into captivity during the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, the Scriptures were already established and circling the earth. Yah’s truth could not be erased. And just as the first Exodus delivered Israel from Egypt, prophecy declares that a Second Exodus will gather them from every nation and return them back to Zion in the near future (Isaiah 11:11-12, Jeremiah 23:7-8).

Israel As Light To The Nations

Israel’s role was never to keep the truth hidden. Their calling was always to shine Yah’s light outward.

“I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth” (Isaiah 49:6).

This is why Yahusha, the promised seed, emphasized Israel’s role in salvation during His ministry.

When speaking to the Samaritan woman at the well, Yahusha said:

“Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22).

The Samaritans had blended worship of Yah with their own traditions, building altars outside Jerusalem and mixing pagan practices with Israel’s heritage, just like Christianity is doing today. Yahusha’s words cut through this confusion. He did not say salvation is of every nation equally. He declared that salvation is rooted in the nation of Israel. The knowledge of the true God, the covenant, and the Messiah Himself all come through Israel. Anyone seeking salvation apart from Israel’s covenant was following empty worship.

Yahusha also made His mission explicit when He told the Canaanite woman who sought His help:

“I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel (Matthew 15:24).

This was not exclusion of her or her people but it was showing his order. Yahusha’s first task was to restore Israel, the covenant people. Only when Israel was restored could the Gentiles receive the blessings promised to Abraham, that all nations would be blessed through his seed (Genesis 22:18). Yahusha confirmed that the covenant relationship Yah established with Israel was still intact, and that He had come to gather the scattered sheep first.

By restoring Israel, Yahusha opened the way for the Gentiles to receive salvation. The Gentiles were not to invent their own path, create their own laws, or redefine Yah’s covenant. They were to receive salvation by coming into alignment with the covenant preserved in Israel.

Paul confirmed this order when he wrote:

“And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them… boast not against the branches… For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee” (Romans 11:17-21).

The Gentiles were not replacing Israel. They were grafted into Israel’s covenant tree. The root remained Israel, and the covenant remained Yah’s promises to His people.

Thus, salvation for the Gentiles does not arise from their traditions, philosophies, or religions. It flows from the covenant Yah entrusted to Israel, confirmed and fulfilled in Yahusha.

The Unfolding Plan

From Genesis to Revelation, Yah’s plan has never changed. He did not entrust His covenant to the Gentile nations because they would corrupt it. Instead, He entrusted it to Israel to safeguard His truth.

  • Israel received the law at Sinai.

  • Israel preserved the Scriptures through generations before captivity.

  • Israel brought forth the Messiah.

  • Israel will be restored to rule with Yahusha as kings and priests, teaching the nations Yah’s ways (Isaiah 2:3, Revelation 5:10).

What began with Cain and Abel, what was corrupted at Babel, will be fulfilled in Zion. The nations will finally learn righteousness, not from their own altars or religions, but from the covenant Yah entrusted only to His chosen people.
