The Spirit Of Anti-Christ Denies That Yahusha Is Yahuah

Many people read the word "Lord" in the New Testament and assume it simply means "master," "teacher," or "sir." While the Greek word Kyrios can carry those meanings in ordinary speech, the New Testament writers used it in a far deeper sense when applied to Yahusha. The confession "Jesus is Lord" was not merely a statement of respect. It was a declaration about identity. It was a recognition that the one who walked among men was Yahuah manifested in flesh.

The Old Testament use of Lord

Throughout the Old Testament, the divine name YHWH (Yahuah) appears thousands of times. When the Hebrew scriptures were translated into Greek before the coming of Yahusha, the translators commonly rendered YHWH as Kyrios (Lord).

For example:

"Hear, O Israel: YHWH our God is one YHWH."(Deuteronomy 6:4)

In the Greek Septuagint this becomes:

"Kyrios our God is one Kyrios."

As a result, by the first century the title Kyrios had become strongly associated with the God of Israel. This is important because the apostles repeatedly applied passages about YHWH directly to Yahusha.

Jesus is Lord

Paul writes:

"Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, 'Jesus be cursed,' and no one can say, 'Jesus is Lord (Yahuah),' except by the Holy Spirit."(1 Corinthians 12:3)

The Greek phrase is:

"Kyrios Iesous"

or

"Jesus is Lord."

Paul is not teaching that a person merely has to pronounce certain words. Unbelievers can repeat words. Paul is speaking of a genuine confession produced by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit reveals who Yahusha truly is.

The Spirit does not merely reveal that Yahusha is a prophet.

The Spirit does not merely reveal that Yahusha is a righteous man.

The Spirit reveals that Yahusha is the manifestation of Yahuah.

This is why Thomas declared:

"My Lord and my God."(John 20:28)

Thomas did not separate Yahusha from God. He recognized the divine identity standing before him.

Likewise, Paul states:

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh..."(1 Timothy 3:16)

The mystery was not that a man appeared.

Men appear every day.

The mystery was that Yahuah appeared in flesh.

The testimony of 1 John 4

John provides a test for discerning spirits:

"Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist..."(1 John 4:2-3)

Many people read these verses as though John were only saying that Yahusha had a physical body.

That interpretation is too shallow.

Every human being comes in flesh. If that were John's point, the statement would prove nothing.

John's writings consistently teach the preexistence of Yahusha.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."(John 1:1)

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us."(John 1:14)

The one who came in flesh was the same Word who was with God and was God.

John's test therefore concerns more than physical humanity.

It concerns the incarnation.

It concerns the acknowledgment that Yahuah entered the world in flesh.

To confess that Yahusha came in the flesh is to confess that the eternal Word took on human nature and dwelt among men.

To deny that reality is to reject the testimony of the apostles.

The connection between 1 Corinthians 12 and 1 John 4

The connection between these passages is powerful.

Paul says no one can truly confess that Yahusha is Lord (Yahuah) except by the Holy Spirit. John says every spirit that refuses to confess Yahusha come in the flesh is not from God but is the spirit of anti-Christ.

The Holy Spirit leads people to acknowledge the true identity of Yahusha.

The spirit of anti-Christ leads people away from that truth.

The Holy Spirit testifies that Yahusha is Lord (Yahuah).

The Holy Spirit testifies that Yahusha came in the flesh.

The Holy Spirit testifies that Yahusha is the Word made flesh.

The spirit of anti-Christ opposes that testimony.

It seeks to separate Yahusha from Yahuah.

It seeks to reduce Him to merely a prophet, teacher, messenger, or created being.

It accepts that Yahusha existed, but rejects who Yahusha is.

That is precisely why John calls it the spirit of anti-Christ.

The issue is not merely whether someone believes Yahusha lived.

The issue is whether they accept the apostolic witness concerning His identity.

The witness of scripture

Isaiah declared:

"Prepare ye the way of YHWH."(Isaiah 40:3)

The New Testament applies this prophecy to John the Baptist preparing the way for Yahusha.

Joel declared:

"Whosoever shall call on the name of YHWH shall be delivered."(Joel 2:32)

Paul applies this passage to Yahusha in Romans 10:9-13.

The apostles repeatedly identify Yahusha with passages originally spoken of YHWH.

This explains why the confession "Jesus is Lord" carried such weight in the early assembly.

It was not merely a title.

It was a declaration that the one revealed in flesh was the same Yahuah who spoke through the prophets.

Conclusion

The New Testament confession that "Jesus is Lord" is rooted in the Old Testament use of YHWH (Yahuah). The apostles used the title Kyrios for Yahusha in the same way the Greek scriptures used it for YHWH. Paul teaches that this confession comes through the Holy Spirit alone. John teaches that the Spirit of God confesses Yahusha come in the flesh, while the spirit of anti-Christ denies it.

Taken together, these passages reveal a consistent apostolic testimony. The Holy Spirit bears witness that Yahusha is Lord (Yahuah), that He came in the flesh, and that He is the divine Word manifested among men. The spirit of anti-Christ rejects that testimony and seeks to separate Yahusha from the divine identity revealed throughout scripture.

According to both Paul and John, the dividing line is not merely whether a person believes Yahusha existed. The dividing line is whether they receive the apostolic witness concerning who He is.
